Information about Invisi-lap tiling
Invisi-lap is a process that makes the seams in a tiled backlit less visible.Instead of installing from left to right or top to bottom, an Invisi-lap job would be installed from right to left and bottom to top. They’re installed in this manner in order to create rain flaps. It works in the same way as Blue Paper billboards and creating an overlap that rain could flow over and down instead of against the overlap which, over time, could cause it to fail.
Print files are set up as a three layer print file that is Image-White-Image. The overlap on one tile just has Image on it and the overlap on the other tile would have White and Image. So when they are combined, they are Image-White-Image. This also makes the seams less visible.
Invisi-lap Vertical Tile
Due to the layered construction of the overlap between tiles, Invisi-lap tiled prints must be installed starting with the furthest tile to the right then working left. This ensures that the left tile overlaps onto the right creating a seamless image.
Invisi-lap Horizontal Tile
Due to the layered construction of the overlap between tiles, Invisi-lap tiled prints must be installed starting with the bottom tile and then working up. This ensures that the upper tile overlaps onto the lower, creating a seamless image.
